Fluid Power Solutions, an industrial hydraulic manufacturing and distribution company in Hilliard, Ohio, faced significant challenges with heat management and air circulation in their facility. To combat the excessive temperatures generated by their hydraulic test stands, they implemented cooling fans for industrial warehouses. Adventure Rock faced notable temperature stratification issues, particularly during the cold winter months. Climbers found the temperature nearly unbearable after reaching 10 feet, with those on the ground remaining cold and those higher up feeling uncomfortably hot. Existing fans failed to push the warm air down effectively. Additionally, the placement of any new fans had to ensure safety, as climbers could potentially reach them.
The management team decided to install Airius Air Pear fans, which met their specific requirements. These fans are designed to be safe for climbers, as they can be placed higher up and out of reach for climbers and do not allow easy access to the fan blades. Furthermore, the compact size of the Air Pear fans was ideal for the limited ceiling space available in the gyms.
The installation process for the Airius Air Pear fans was straightforward. The most challenging part was reaching the high ceilings, but once in place, the fans were easy to plug in and operate. Multiple cord configurations facilitated the installation, and the smaller size of the Air Pear fans made them easier to handle compared to standard commercial ceiling fans. Adventure Rock installed various models, including the Air Pear 25, 35, and 55, over multiple installation dates, with the latest installation in 2022.
The results were immediate and impressive. The comfort of members and guests improved significantly. Previously, temperature differences between the ceiling and floor could reach up to 9 degrees on particularly cool days. With the Airius Air Pear fans, this difference was reduced to about 1 degree, providing a much more tolerable environment.
The installation process was straightforward and completed quickly. The fans were mounted and wired into the control system in less than a day. One notable step was the integration of both fans into the TRIAC-120-15 control, which ensured that the airflow could be easily adjusted for optimal operator comfort.
The installation of Airius Onyx fans at Fluid Power Solutions successfully addressed the challenges of heat management and operator comfort.
