Smarter Airflow Management with Destratification Fans for Data Centers
Data centers generate enormous amounts of heat around the clock. As rack densities increase, maintaining predictable airflow and removing heat efficiently becomes increasingly important for equipment reliability, cooling performance, and operating costs.

The Challenge
Data center cooling depends on getting conditioned air where it is needed while efficiently returning heated exhaust air to the cooling system. Even with hot aisle/cold aisle configurations and containment systems, large facilities can experience airflow challenges including ceiling-level heat accumulation, localized hot spots, stagnant areas, uneven temperature conditions, and inefficient return-air movement.
When airflow is poorly controlled, cooling equipment may have to work harder to maintain acceptable rack inlet temperatures.
The Airius Solution
Airius fans can provide strategically controlled air movement to complement existing data center cooling infrastructure. Rather than simply increasing airflow throughout the room, Airius fans can be positioned and controlled to help address areas of heat accumulation and support the facility’s intended return-air strategy without compromising hot aisle/cold aisle separation.

Onyx EC Series
Designed specifically for powerful air circulation and cooling applications, the Onyx EC Series is well suited to larger data halls and areas with significant heat loads. With coverage up to 2,000 sq. ft. per unit, variable-speed EC motors, and BACnet or 0–10V integration, airflow can be adjusted as operating conditions change.

Air Pear EC Series
For facilities requiring greater flexibility, the Air Pear EC Series offers multiple models for different ceiling heights and coverage requirements. Its focused columnar airflow, low-energy EC motors, and integration with building management systems allow airflow to be strategically introduced where it can support the existing cooling and return-air design.
In either application, fan placement and speed would be determined according to rack layout, containment strategy, ceiling height, cooling configuration, and return-air locations. The objective is not to mix the entire data hall, but to improve airflow where it can enhance cooling-system performance.
