Enhancing Operator Comfort through cooling with Airius Onyx Fans at Fluid Power Solutions

Challenge

Fluid Power Solutions, an industrial hydraulic manufacturing and distribution company, faced challenges with temperature control and air circulation, particularly in the area surrounding their industrial hydraulic test stands. These test stands generate excessive heat due to the "false" work used to simulate real-world applications. This created an uncomfortably hot environment for the operators conducting the tests, impacting their comfort, safety, and productivity.

Solution & Installation

To address these challenges, Fluid Power Solutions installed two Onyx-P4-STD-120 fans. These fans were mounted on posts in front of the test stands to blow air directly at the back of the operator, keeping them cool while working. The forced air also helped remove heat from the unit being tested, which was directly next to the operator during the testing process. The fans were wired together into a TRIAC-120-15 variable speed control, which provided smooth and easily adjustable airflow to meet the needs of the operator.

Results

The installation of the Onyx fans significantly improved the temperature conditions for the operators, allowing them to work in a more stable and comfortable environment. Management noted the increase in both safety and productivity.

The installation process was straightforward and completed quickly. The fans were mounted and wired into the control system in less than a day.
