At Airius, we’ve always been committed to producing air circulation products that stand up to the toughest environments and the highest expectations. That’s why, starting July 7, 2025, all Airius fan models will now feature ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic housings and stainless steel hardware.
These upgraded materials represent a deliberate engineering decision, made to improve long-term durability, reliability, and performance. Here’s what makes these changes a better solution—for both our products and your projects.
Upgraded Hardware: Why Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel isn’t just known for its shine. It brings critical performance advantages for long-term use, particularly in demanding environments:
- Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel contains chromium, which forms a passive oxide layer that resists rust. This is ideal for installations in humid, wet, marine, or chemically aggressive environments.
- Mechanical Strength: Stainless steel offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and maintains its mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures.
- Low Maintenance & Long-Term Reliability: Unlike zinc-plated or untreated steel, stainless steel resists staining and corrosion without coatings or frequent upkeep.
- Sustainability: It’s fully recyclable and contributes to long-lasting, environmentally responsible infrastructure.
Where it matters: We’ve upgraded all screws, eyebolts, washers, and nuts across every fan series. These are often the first components to degrade in harsh conditions—our stainless steel versions are built to last.
New Housing Material: Why ABS Plastic?
We’re replacing our previous PC/ABS blended plastic with pure ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)—a tough, thermoplastic polymer used in automotive parts, protective housings, and industrial applications.
Here’s why:
- Improved Chemical Resistance: ABS performs better in environments with exposure to oils, alkalis, and many common cleaning chemicals. This makes it ideal for light industrial, retail, and commercial settings.
- Recyclability & Lifecycle Management: ABS is easier to recycle than blended plastics and can be separated more cleanly during material recovery processes.
- Temperature Performance: ABS maintains its properties in a wide range of operating conditions and remains stable during thermal cycling.
What This Means for You
These upgrades are part of our long-term commitment to creating high-performance fans that:
- Last longer in challenging environments
- Require less maintenance over time
- Offer a more refined and consistent appearance
- Align with modern sustainability and quality standards
The switch to ABS and stainless steel may seem like a small change, but it’s rooted in material science and years of product experience. These changes give you a more durable, reliable product—one that’s built for the long haul.
